Who We Are
1. Rona Community Church is a Christian church.
We are unabashed followers of Jesus Christ – proclaiming Him as Lord of all and inviting all to follow Him and His Ways. We purposely align ourselves within the 2000 years of history of the Christian Church. Thus we affirm the seven historic creeds of the Christian Church.
2. Rona Community Church is a denominational church.
We are a full member of The Missionary Church, Inc. – a membership that has spanned the entirety of our eighty-plus years of existence. Thus we are a part of a uniting and authorizing body of like-minded Christians.
3. Rona Community Church is a community church.
We are physically situated within the Rona Hills development of Fairborn, Ohio. Thus we focus the majority of our efforts in ministry within this local area.
4.We are a community of the New Creation.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we believe that God has made us totally new by the power of His Holy Spirit through the life and work of Jesus Christ. Thus we are intent on living out the realities of being made new. We fill out this intent by being committed to:
a. Spiritual Formation - We believe that, even though we have been made new, we have not been made complete, which implies that our lifelong task is to be formed and transformed into the likeness of our Lord. Thus, as a church, we offer many opportunities for spiritual formation.
b. Community - We believe that, as part of being made new, we have been placed within a community, which implies that our Christian journey includes being an involved participant within the community. Thus, as a church, we enjoy being with and building the community.
c. Ministry - We believe that, as part of being made new, we have been given empowering gifts – specific abilities given to us for the purpose of ministry. Thus, as a church, we invite and encourage all to employ their gifts in ministry.
d. Care - We believe that, as part of being a community, we are called to care for one another, and we believe that God is the One who cares completely. Thus, as a church, we pray for as well as do what we can to physically care for each other.
e. Mission – We believe that, since we have been made new, we have been launched into God’s mission – a mission to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. Thus, as a church, we are deeply involved with local, national, and worldwide mission efforts.
